Dear colleagues,

We are excited to announce that the 2023 Health in Preconception, Pregnancy, and Postpartum Early and Mid-career Researcher Collective (HiPPP EMR-C) Conference will be held on Tuesday 17th October 2023, 9am-4pm (Australian Central Daylight Time; ACDT).

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Informing and performing implementation research in health systems and services’. We are excited to convene a conference to share research that informs the development, implementation, evaluation and scale-up of best practice care in health system and service settings relating to the prevention and treatment of maternal/paternal obesity and related offspring health outcomes.

The date and location were chosen to coincide with the Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) Conference, which is being held in Adelaide from 18th -20th October, 2023.

The HiPPP EMR-C Conference will run as a hybrid (in-person and virtual) event. The in-person conference will be held at the 1059b Lecture Theatre, Adelaide Health and Medical Science Building, University of Adelaide, 4 North Terrace in Adelaide, Australia. We hope to see as many of you as possible in Adelaide. However, for those who cannot make it in-person, we look forward to having you join the conference online.

The conference in Adelaide will be held on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. We also acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia including those that virtual conference participants will be joining from. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

The HiPPP EMR-C conferences provide a unique opportunity to share, learn, connect, and network with like-minded researchers from around the world. We aim to create a friendly, supportive environment where PhD candidates, early and mid-career researchers and non-researchers (e.g. health care workers and health professionals) who have completed their last degree within the past 15 years have an opportunity to present their research and learnings. We encourage and welcome both HiPPP EMR-C members and anyone with an interest in the field to attend the conference. Click here to read about our successful 2022 conference.
