The HiPPP EMR-C ANZ invite abstract submissions for the 7th Annual Conference, taking place 17 November 2026.

This year’s theme, “Exploring Health in Preconception, Pregnancy, and Beyond”, highlights research and practice that advance health and wellbeing across the reproductive, maternal, and early life course continuum. The conference welcomes diverse perspectives and methodologies that contribute to improving health outcomes before conception, during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, including research focused on prevention, clinical care, implementation, policy, and community engagement.

We encourage submissions from a broad range of disciplines and approaches, including epidemiological, observational, interventional, qualitative, translational, and co-design research. Contributions that incorporate consumer, patient, or lived-experience perspectives are particularly welcomed to foster meaningful collaboration and real-world impact.

This is an online conference. Presentation types include:

• Oral presentations (live)
• Rapid-fire presentations (pre-recorded)

Eligibility:
Abstracts are invited from:

• PhD candidates
• Early-career researchers or non-researchers (≤5 years post-terminal degree, relative to opportunity)
• Mid-career researchers or non-researchers (5–15 years post-terminal degree, relative to opportunity)

Researchers may be based in Australia, New Zealand or internationally.

Abstract Guidelines

• 350-word limit (excluding title, authors, funding/conflicts of interest)
• Structure using: Background and Aim(s), Methods, Results, Conclusion(s)
• No tables, figures, or images
• References optional (included in word count)
• Use standard abbreviations and define them at first mention. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the word/phrase in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.
• If applicable, include trial registration number
• You may submit multiple abstracts, however, only one oral presentation per presenter will be accepted. Additional accepted abstracts may be offered as rapid-fire presentations.
• Please use the Abstract Submission Form below to submit your abstract.
• The presenting author must be a PhD candidate, early- or mid-career researcher, or a non-researcher within 15 years of their terminal (final) degree.
• The presenting author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the abstract content prior to submission.

Submission Instructions

• Oral presenters must be available to present live during the conference (17 November 2026, AEDT).

All abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Abstract Peer Review Committee and evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Alignment with the conference scope
• Contribution to the field
• Innovation and novelty
• Appropriateness of study design
• Quality of measures and analyses
• Appropriate conclusions

You will be notified by email within 48 hours to confirm receipt of your abstract. Decisions regarding abstract acceptance will be sent to you via email by the conference organisers (conference.hippp.emrc@gmail.com) once the review process is complete.

Authors whose abstracts are accepted for oral or rapid-fire presentations must register for the conference by 25 September 2026. The registration fees are as follows:

• Non-member - $75
• Member - $30
• Student member $20
