2024 Hybrid HiPPP EMR-C Conference

About the Event

The Health in Preconception, Pregnancy, and Postpartum (HiPPP) Early and Mid-Career Researcher Collective (EMR-C) invites you to attend their 5th annual conference.

This year the theme is 'Prevention across the reproductive lifespan: collaborating with stakeholders to optimise Health in Preconception, Pregnancy and Postpartum'. This includes studies which demonstrate or inform collaboration with a range of stakeholders, from consumers through to policymakers, to develop, implement, evaluate or scale-up best practice care to prevent the development of, or the complications of, maternal/paternal obesity and related offspring health outcomes across the preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum spectrum. This encompasses epidemiological, observational, interventions, qualitative and other research. This will be a hybrid conference (in-person and online) and will include oral (live) and rapid-fire (pre-recorded) presentations.

For those who are unable to attend the conference, registration will give you access to the conference recordings so you can watch the presentations at your own convenience.

Conference registration fees for in person and hybrid conference attendance are available, with categories for HiPPP EMR-C members and non-members, and for students. Please see below for a list of conference registration categories and fees.

  • Non-members: $90

**SPECIAL OFFER: HiPPP EMR-C & ANZOS CONFERENCE ABSTRACT AWARDS**

We are very excited to announce that we are able to offer FIVE awards to people who submit an abstract to both the HiPPP EMR-C and ANZOS conferences this year!

Thanks to the Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS), the awards will provide FREE registration to both conferences, valued at more than $500. Awards will be given based on the score abstracts receive during the HiPPP EMR-C Conference abstract peer review process.  HiPPP and ANZOS abstracts are due Friday 5 July, so get your abstracts in this week for your chance to win! When you submit your ANZOS abstract, be sure to check the box on the submission form, indicating that you have also submitted the abstract to the HiPPP conference. ANZOS abstract submissions can be made via their website: https://www.anzos.com/submissions-anzos.

**ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DUE - Friday 5th July 2024 5.00PM AEST**

The Health in Preconception Pregnancy and Postpartum (HiPPP) Early and Mid-career Researcher Collective (HiPPP EMR-C) welcome abstract submissions for the 2024 Conference. This year the theme is 'Prevention across the reproductive lifespan: collaborating with stakeholders to optimise Health in Preconception, Pregnancy and Postpartum'. This includes studies which demonstrate or inform collaboration with a range of stakeholders, from consumers through to policy makers, to develop, implement, evaluate or scale-up best practice care to prevent the development of, or the complications of, maternal/paternal obesity and related offspring health outcomes across the preconception, pregnancy and postpartum spectrum. This encompasses epidemiological, observational, interventions, qualitative and other research. This will be a hybrid conference (in-person and online) and will include oral (live) and rapid-fire (pre-recorded) presentations.

    Eligibility:
Abstracts are invited from PhD candidates and early- and mid-career researchers and non-researchers who are based in Australia or overseas. Early-career researchers and non-researchers have completed their terminal degree within the past 5 years (relative to opportunity), and mid-career researchers or non-researchers are between 5 and 15 years of completing their terminal degree (relative to opportunity). You might like to use the NHMRC guidelines to help you calculate any career disruptions:

    Download the NHMRC Guidelines.

The conference programme will include an approximate equal number of presentations across career stages.

On the Abstract Submission Form, you can indicate your preferred presentation format (Oral, or Rapid-Fire) and platform (in-person or online). If your abstract is accepted for oral presentation, you are expected to be available to deliver your presentation live at a mutually agreed time during the conference (Monday 14 October, 9:30am to 4:30pm AEDT (GMT+11), Australia). Rapid-Fire presentations will be pre-recorded and sent to conference organisers prior to the event (due date: 12th September).

Abstract submissions will be evaluated by the Abstract Peer Review Committee in relation to a number of criteria including if it is in line with conference scope, makes an important contribution to the field, innovation/novelty, appropriate study design, quality of measures and analyses, and appropriate conclusion.
