HiPPP EMR-C Awards: A moment with Edwina Dorney

Michelle Putt Uncategorised

Congratulations to Edwina Dorney, awarded the Best Student Rapid Fire Award for her presentation:  Developing a set of core indicators for preconception health services in Australia

  • What does this award mean to you?

It is an honour to receive this award and be part of such a dynamic and inspiring group of researchers.

  • What was the key takeaway from your presentation?

Preconception offers a unique window to deliver preventive care to improve the health of future generations. We need to be driven by the data to inform our health care, research and policy initiatives, preconception indicators are a means to do this.

  • What are you working towards next?

I am working on my PhD submission and writing up my thesis. I am also looking forward to further work with the Preconception Health Network and mapping the data sources to our indicators to generate a preconception health report card for people of reproductive age in Australia.

  • What did you think of this year’s HiPPP EMR-C conference?

I was unable to be there for the conference this year! I am so sad to have missed it and am looking forward to catching up online.
