HiPPP EMR-C VIDEO: Find out more about the Health in Preconception, Pregnancy and Postpartum Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Collective
“The HiPPP EMR-C was formed in recognition of the need for young researchers to join together and generate collaborative opportunities, as we are the next generation of researchers,” said HiPPP EMR-C Founder and Chair Dr Briony Hill.
“We have the purpose of generating impact and knowledge in the prevention of maternal obesity, and that’s in the preconception, pregnancy and postpartum phases for mothers, fathers, throughout parenthood and for their children.”
The collective was formed in 2019, and now has over 80 members. It has run two highly successful annual conferences in 2020 and 2021, where more than 60 Early- and Mid-Career Researchers (EMCRs) and postgraduate students presented their work.
HiPPP EMR-C is led by an active and multidisciplinary team of EMCRs, supported by mentors who are leading experts in their fields. The collective offers many leadership and mentoring opportunities.
The collective is also working to build international collaboration, by encouraging overseas researchers to start their own collectives supported by the HiPPP EMR-C. The first of these is already up and running in the UK.
